The Scientific thought of the Founder of the Emmanuelites

The Scientific thought of the Founder of the Emmanuelites

by Prof John Okoro Egbulefu CCE

The Scientific thought of the Founder of the priestly religious missionary Congregation of Christ the Emmanuel, the members of which are called the Emmanuelites, is a thing existing both in the form of an event and in the form of an object.

The Founder’s scientific thought as a thing existing in the form of an event

The Founder’s scientific thought as a thing existing in the form of an event consists in his perception and persuasion contained in his teachings:

that the proper object of the reasoning, thinking, intellectual, volitional, mimetic/anamnestic, conscientious, intuitive, affective, cordial act/action/activity of the human spirit is reality, and the proper goal of such activity of the human spirit is to acquire knowledge through research and study as learning from a master, an authoritative and exemplary teacher and to transmit/communicate knowledge through teaching as imparting of knowledge to the needy;

that knowledge as the proper goal of the activity of the human spirit is the power with which to overpower, overthrow and overcome ignorance as that evil that makes the most humans think, say and do evil things as things privy of goodness as of suitability/befittingness and hence utility/usefulness and hence desirability/delectability;

that reality as the proper object of the activity of the human spirit is that existing and hence sensorily or extra-sensorily perceptible being which in order to be understood is structured, hence the structure of a reality as of an existing being is the principle of the intelligibility of that being;

that the structure of every reality consists in the unity resulting from the union of the two components of the reality: the container component and the content component of that reality, that the structure of the content determines the structure of the container, that the condition for the container-component to contain the content component of the reality adequately is that the structure of the container must correspond or be conformed to the structure of the content, that geometry as the mathematical science of forms is the proper science the object of which is the structure of the content component and hence of the container component of the reality, while arithmetic as the mathematical science of numbers or of numerical figures is the proper science the object of which in the numerical strength of the constitutive elements of the content component of the reality which are increasable by addition and/or multiplication and reducible/decreasable by subtraction and/or division, whereas Algebra as the mathematical science of equations (formulae for equalities in general, and for equivalence as equality in value and hence for mutual replacement or substitution of two or more mutually replaceable or substituable values) is the proper science the object of which is to be condition for the container component to contain the content component of the reality adequately, namely the correspondence or conformity of the structure of the container to the structure of the content component of the reality.

The Founder’s scientific thought as a thing existing in the form of an object

The Founder’s scientific thought as a thing existing in the form of an object is that reality (with its container component and content component) which has a system (single unit the unity of which results from the union) of three distinct variables and one indivisible constant) and which is the union of one constant container component (consisting in the unity - as fruit resulting from the Trinitarian-theandrically structured union - of three distinct human variables and one indivisible divine Constant) and the variable content component (the number of the constitutive elements of which is two: the understanding/knowledge of the one divine Trinity and of the integrated/integral human culture.

The one divine Trinity

The one divine Trinity is understood and known in the Founder’s thought to be the unity (resulting from the Trinitarian-anthropologically structured Union) of three distinct nameable/named divine persons (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit) and the one and indivisible and only one ineffable divine thing (the divine Name expressing the divine essence consisting in God’s being the first and the last Being that is both the first and last of Himself, of His kind, and hence the only one of His kind, hence numerically only one, and the first and last of all beings together, whereby the most decisive divine attributes deriving from God’s essence as from God’s being the first and the last Being - His having none before Him and hence no beginning and no origin and thus depending on none else than Himself for His existence, thus His being absolute, His existing by Himself, His originating from none else than Himself and rather His being the Reality, the existing Being, from which the other good beings exist, His having none after Him and hence no end and no goal and thus tending to none else than Himself for His fullness and fulfillment, thus His being the only Being towards whom other beings tend for their fullness and fulfillment, His being eternal as His having neither a beginning nor an end, His embracing all that is good, His omnipresence as presence in all places at the same time at all times, His embracing all powers, His embracing every power of knowledge, His omniscience, the power to know all things, His embracing the three most powerful powers that exist - the power to do all things that are good and to do each well at the absolutely superlative grade of its being well done, the power to do no evil and to make no mistake, the power to overview ä, overpower, overthrow and overcome every evil and to eliminate all evils together and give way free for only goodness to reign as in heaven - His holiness and perfection and His mysteriousness and paradoxical an unpredictable character, whereby in the Union os all these essential attributes of God consists the divine nature, and the unity resulting from such a Union of the essential divine attributes constitutes that omnipotence which underlies and sustains the infallible efficacy of the words a and and actions, and hence the infallible efficiency, of the three named eternal persons in one God and which on account of its underlying and sustaining character and function is termed the divine substance].

The integrated/integral human culture

The integrated/integral human culture is understood and known in the Founder’s thought to be the unity (as fruit of the Trinitarian-theandrically structured union) of the three categories of the human culture: the population local culture as the culture of a people/populus living in a place/locus or migrating from place to place; the metaphysical culture as the culture resulting from the human cultivation of the five interchangeable transcendental values: being, oneness/unity, goodness, trueness/truth/truthfulness, beauty/beautfulness, and the contemporary global culture as the culture of the times/contempora world wide (globus), with the one and indivisible God who because He has created the human beings for Himself binds the human beings individually and collectively to Himself and sowith has instituted in every individual human being the practice of Religiousity (every human being is a religious being) as the aggregate of man’s believing/faith in God, adoring/worship of God, and Morality/doing good and avoiding evil for the sake of God) and has founded thereby only one God-man Religion called Christianity as that mystical/religious Body the only one head of which is Christ while the members of such Body are the Christians that form the one holy Catholic and apostolic Church of Christ as the union of the one Holy Spirit as a divine person with the many and different faithful/obedient human believers in and adherents and followers and imitators of Christ called the Apostles and Disciples of Christ who prolong Christ in space and time that went about doing good and curing those under the power of the evil spirits (the devil and the demons)

The different ramifications of the christianized human culture

The different ramifications of the christianized human culture are the union of ‘the one God, hence of the one divinely installed Religiosity in Man, hence of the only one true Godmanlly Religion, hence of the one Christianity as Religious/Mystical Body the only one head of which is Christ and the members of which are the Christians the aggregate of whom is the only one holy Catholic and apostolic Church of Christ the union of the Holy Spirit as one divine person with the many and diverse human believers and adherents and faithful followers of Christ called theApostles and Disciples of Christ’ with each one of the three categories of the human culture: the popular local culture, the metaphysical culture of the five interchangeable transcendental values, and the contemporary global Culture.
